FORECLOSURE DEFENSE
There are several initiatives taking place in St. Louis currently. Some require 3rd party mediation for homeowners prior to foreclosing on a home; others impose large fines for banks with derelict property. I will support initiatives that force banks to work with homeowners to keep them in their homes. Many foreclosed properties sit abandoned for months to years before the bank finally puts them on the market. These foreclosed homes are a blight on our community and can attract a criminal element. We need to keep our neighbors in their homes, we don’t need any more vacant property in our ward.
